Many children have emotional needs that impact their ability to learn. The guidance program is a comprehensive developmental counseling model meant to reach as many children as possible.
Classroom Guidance is an integrative way to reach the highest number of students. Mrs. Salvato schedules each class about once a month throughout the school year. The classes come to Mrs. Salvato’s room to participate in lessons on a variety of topics. Topics include: dealing with teasing, character education, friendship skills, problem-solving, self-esteem, test anxiety, and anger management.
The counseling office is a welcoming and comfortable place for students. The School Counselor’s goals are to help students develop the necessary skills they need with which to be successful in the school and the world.
